Who will you vote for president in 2012?

New York, NY, 1/18/2011 — On January 17, 2011, Rush Limbaugh discussed a story that originally appeared in the Staten Island Advance on December 25 and has since made rounds in many other publications and blogs, including RedState.com on the day of Mr. Limbaugh's discussion.
Heavily quoted in the article was David Storobin, attorney and Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party in Brooklyn, who immigrated from the Soviet Union 20 years ago, and has been actively helping Republican candidates since.
Mr. Storobin was quoted as saying that many Russian-Americans want to join the party they perceive as being more patriotic because are grateful for the religious, business and travel freedoms the United States offers, as well as opportunities to succeed unrivaled by any other country.
Other Russian-American businessmen quoted in the article discussed that Democratic policies are too socialistic, too much like what they saw in the Soviet Union.
While State Senator Diane Savino, whose district includes parts of Brighton Beach, condemned Russian-Americans as "absurd," others noted, "Whats more likely? Russian immigrants who have lived communism AND have seen the policies of the Democratic party are just “way off base”, or [a] Democratic state Sen. Diane Savino who has a vested interest?"
Mr. Storobin, who regularly appears in the media as a legal and political expert, is available to discuss why over 80% of the Russian immigrants who remember Soviet policies voted against Barack Obama and an even higher number of them presently disapprove of his policies.
He can also discuss why most of Eastern Europe adopted policies far more capitalist than anything seen in the United States, including the flat tax. In September 2007, Investor's Business Daily wrote an editorial based on Mr. Storobin's article on the success of the flat tax in Eastern Europe.

Obviously you did not bother reading the comments :)
People are not stupid. They know what is going on. We can see this from the comments after the article. I would say it is the first positive comments from Staten Island residents about russians on the island.
